Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) June 2026

Basic eligibility paths

• ✓Candidates aiming to teach classes I to V appear for Paper-1A, and classes VI to VIII for Paper-2A; Paper-1B and Paper-2B are the corresponding papers for special schools.
• ✓Only candidates holding both D.El.Ed and B.Ed qualifications may appear for all four papers.
• ✓Candidates pursuing the final semester of an NCTE- or RCI-recognised teacher-education course may appear, but the notification states they cannot use that APTET certificate for the Teacher Recruitment Test until they acquire the prescribed qualification.
• ✓Under the Supreme Court judgment in Civil Appeal No.1385 of 2025, in-service teachers recruited before the RTE Act with more than five years to superannuation must qualify the TET.
• ✓Passing APTET does not by itself confer any right to appointment as a teacher.

Relaxations & certificates

• SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
• Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.

Selection stages

1. 1Computer-based test of 150 marks in the paper or papers applied for
2. 2Initial key, objections through the SCERT subject expert committee, then final key
3. 3Normalisation across shifts using the formula published in the notification
4. 4Qualifying marks: 60% (90 marks) for OC/EWS, 50% (75 marks) for BC, and 40% (60 marks) for SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen
