Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.

- ₹1,000 plus GST (₹1,180) for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and no fee for SC/ST/PwBD/ESM in the previous cycle (Advt. No. 17556/HR/All-India/2025); the current cycle's fee is not published yet. Use the official payment instructions only.

Basic eligibility paths
- Under BEL's last all-India Probationary Engineer advertisement (No. 17556/HR/All-India/2025), only Electronics/Electronics & Communication and Mechanical disciplines were notified; the current cycle's notice will restate the discipline list and cut-off date.
- Final-semester students were allowed to apply in that cycle but had to produce the degree or provisional degree certificate at the time of joining.
- Where marks are awarded as CGPA/GPI/SGPA, the institute's own conversion certificate must be produced at the interview.
- Postings in that cycle covered BEL units at Bangalore, Ghaziabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Machilipatnam, Panchkula, Kotdwara and Navi Mumbai.

- 2Minimum qualifying marks of 35% for General/OBC/EWS and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD, separately in the CBT and the interview
- 3Shortlisting for interview in a 1:5 ratio on CBT performance
- 4Interview — final selection uses a weightage of 85 marks for the CBT and 15 marks for the interview
