First-tier examination
Postponed — new date awaited
Who can apply?
A readable first check—not a legal eligibility decision.
Basic eligibility paths
- Applicants must rank the five companies — MGVCL, DGVCL, UGVCL, PGVCL and GETCO — in order of preference at the time of applying; the preference cannot be changed later and is used with merit rank at allotment.
- At least 85% of selections are reserved for local residents of Gujarat under the state government resolution of 31 Mar 1995; a valid domicile certificate is needed to claim that quota, and non-domicile reserved-category applicants are considered only as unreserved.
- Serving government, semi-government or PSU employees must produce a no-objection certificate at document verification.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
- Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.
Selection process & syllabus
Stage by stage, without mixing recruitment years.

- 2Second-tier computer-based test of 100 marks, which alone determines the final ranking
- 3Provisional and final answer keys with a paid objection tracker at ₹500 per question, refunded where the objection is upheld
- 4Merit-based allotment to a company by roster and stated preference, then document verification and a pre-employment medical examination
Syllabus snapshot
- The advertisement carries a tentative first-tier syllabus that opens with Reasoning (15 marks) and Quantitative Aptitude (15 marks); read the full table inside the advertisement.
