Basic eligibility paths
- Unmarried male candidates only, aged 16½ to 19½ years as on 1 Jan 2027 (born 1 Jul 2007 to 1 Jul 2010, both dates inclusive), per the official TES-56 notification cited here.
- 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and at least 60% aggregate in those three subjects.
- The candidate must have appeared in JEE (Main) 2026; the All India Rank is the sole basis for shortlisting to the SSB, so no separate written examination is held.
- Shortlisting uses a cut-off percentage published on the Join Indian Army portal, which varies with the applicant pool for the course.
- Selection is completed by a five-day SSB interview and a recruitment medical; the notification states the 90 vacancies are provisional and subject to change.
