Basic eligibility paths
- The entry-wise education and age conditions above are taken from the draft Coast Guard General Duty Officers, Technical Officers and Law Officers Recruitment Rules published together on the Indian Coast Guard website; the operative batch advertisement restates them with its own cut-off date.
- Those rules disqualify a candidate who has contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, or who has a living spouse and has contracted another marriage, unless the Central Government grants a specific exemption.
- Under the draft rules eighty per cent of Assistant Commandant (General Duty) and (Technical) vacancies are filled by direct recruitment and twenty per cent by departmental promotion, so the number opened to outside candidates varies by cycle.
- Assistant Commandant (Law) is filled wholly by direct recruitment under the draft rules; serving Coast Guard, Army, Navy and Air Force personnel receive the relaxations stated there.
- Nationality, medical, swimming and other batch-specific conditions are stated in the current advertisement; no current-cycle figure is asserted here.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
- Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.
