LAHD-SSRB Teacher (Primary and Upper Primary) Recruitment - Advertisement Notice No. 01 of 2026

Basic eligibility paths

• ✓A candidate must be a resident of Leh district and must possess a Domicile Certificate in the format at Annexure-V, issued by a competent authority under the Ladakh Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment - Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2025 and S.O. 76 dated 27-06-2025 (clause 4).
• ✓Age must be 18 to 40 years as on 1 January 2026, with the category relaxations tabulated in clause 5.
• ✓The crucial date for determining SC/ST/ALC/EWS/PwD/ESM status or any other benefit such as reservation, age relaxation, domicile certificate and essential qualification, where not specified otherwise, is the closing date for submission of application, i.e. 06.08.2026 (clause 3).
• ✓A candidate eligible for reservation under multiple categories (ST and ALC, ALC and EWS, SC and ALC) must opt for only one category at the time of filling the online application under section 19 of the J&K Reservation Act, 2004; the choice is final and cannot be changed after submission.
• ✓Only applications filled successfully through the Board's website and found in order are accepted; candidature of candidates not meeting the eligibility conditions is cancelled at any stage without notice (clause 1).

Relaxations & certificates

• SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
• Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.

Selection stages

1. 1Paper I - common OMR-based objective examination for Teacher (Primary) and Teacher (Upper Primary), 100 marks
2. 2Paper II - subject-concerned OMR-based objective examination, 100 marks, evaluated only on securing the minimum qualifying marks in Paper I
3. 3Merit list on the combined aggregate of Paper I and Paper II, followed by shortlisting and document verification

Syllabus snapshot

• Scheme of examination (clause 12): a two-stage OMR based written examination of objective type multiple choice questions. Paper I carries 100 marks and is common for all posts; Paper II carries 100 marks for the subject concerned, with separate syllabi for Upper Primary and Primary Teacher. Total for Paper I and Paper II is 200 marks.
• Paper I (Code T01) has 25 questions each in General Awareness, General Intelligence and reasoning ability, Arithmetical and Numerical Ability and English Language, in 1 hour 30 minutes (2 hours for candidates eligible for a scribe). Paper II (Code T02 for Primary, T03 for Upper Primary) has 100 marks in 1 hour 30 minutes.
• There is negative marking of 0.25 marks out of a maximum 1 mark per question for each wrong answer; the medium of examination is English; and the minimum qualifying marks are 20% in Paper I and 20% in Paper II.
• Part-A (General Intelligence): questions of both verbal and non-verbal type, including analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion and syllogistic reasoning; topics include Semantic/Symbolic/Number and Figural Analogy, Classification and Series, Word Building, Numerical and symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation and Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern folding and un-folding, Indexing, Address matching, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence.
• Part-B (General Awareness): questions designed to test general awareness of the environment and its application to society, knowledge of current events and of matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect, and questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy and Scientific Research.
• Part-C (Quantitative Aptitude): computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram and Pie chart.
• Part-D (English Language): the candidate's ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. Questions in Parts A, B and D are at a level commensurate with the essential qualification (graduation) and questions in Part-C are at 10th standard level.
