- Apprentice Development Officers were paid a stipend of about ₹51,500 a month during apprenticeship; on appointment as Probationary Development Officer the basic pay was ₹35,650 in the scale ₹35650-2200(2)-40050-2595(2)-45240-2645(17)-90205, with total emoluments of roughly ₹56,000 in an 'A' class city, per the 2022-23 employment notices. Gross and in-hand pay vary by posting and allowance.

Basic eligibility paths
- LIC classifies applicants into three categories — LIC Employees, LIC Agents and Others (open market) — and its last cycle capped them at 15%, 25% and 60% of vacancies respectively.
- Open-market candidates need a Bachelor's degree from a recognised Indian university or the Fellowship of the Insurance Institute of India; LIC agent and employee candidates additionally need qualifying service and business records.
- The spouse of an LIC agent is not eligible for recruitment as an Apprentice Development Officer.
- The role is a marketing job with considerable travel across the allotted area; confirm every condition in the official current-cycle notice.
