- Vacancies
- Post-wise vacancies are printed in the rulebook's reservation tables The rulebook's chapter 1 carries the post-wise and category-wise reservation tables supplied by Police Headquarters under letters पुमु/2-चयन/स-1/22-ए/25 dated 25 February 2025 and 596 dated 28 August 2025; it prints no single combined total, so none is asserted here.
- Education
- Graduate A bachelor's degree from any recognised university, or an equivalent qualification, for all three cadres — Subedar, Sub-Inspector (General Duty, Special Armed Force) and Sub-Inspector (General Duty, other than Special Armed Force) including the woman Sub-Inspector posts. No relaxation is given in the educational qualification (rulebook clause 7).
- Age
- Age is computed as on 10 November 2025. The maximum is 33 years for Madhya Pradesh unreserved and EWS men and for every candidate domiciled outside the state; 38 years for women of all categories, for MP-domicile SC/ST/OBC men, for MP-domicile government, corporation, board, autonomous-body and nagar sainik employees and for men in an inter-caste marriage; and 43 years for MP-domicile women in an inter-caste marriage and for MP-domicile Vikram Award winners in the reserved and women categories (rulebook clause 8). Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.
- Application fee
- ₹500 for unreserved candidates and ₹250 for Madhya Pradesh-domicile SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates as the board's fee, plus a Police Department examination fee of ₹200 for unreserved and ₹100 for MP-domicile SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, and an MP Online portal fee of ₹60 through a kiosk or ₹20 through a registered citizen login. Candidates who qualify for the second-stage main written test pay a separate processing fee to the board (rulebook page 1 and clause 4.xi). Use the official payment instructions only.
- Pay
- Level 9, ₹36,200–1,14,800 for Subedar and for both Sub-Inspector cadres; under General Administration Department circular C.3-13/2019/3/एक dated 12 December 2019 a stipend of 70, 80 and 90 per cent of the minimum is paid in the first, second and third year (rulebook clause 5). Gross and in-hand pay vary by posting and allowance.

Who can apply?
A readable first check—not a legal eligibility decision.
Basic eligibility paths
- Sub-Inspector (Special Armed Force) posts are open to men only; the other cadres are open to both men and women (rulebook, chapter 1, opening paragraph).
- A candidate who is not a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh may apply only against unreserved open posts and gets neither reservation nor age relaxation; a domicile certificate is compulsory for any reservation claim (rulebook clause 6.vi).
- A candidate with more than two living children, one of them born on or after 26 January 2001, is not eligible for appointment (rulebook clause 9).
- A selected candidate must complete at least five years of service in the unit to which they are posted before becoming eligible for transfer, and can be posted anywhere inside or outside the state, including the Economic Offences Wing and the Special Police Establishment (Lokayukta), without their consent (rulebook clause 6.iii and 6.v).
- Candidates in the priority categories listed in General Administration Department orders C 3-9/2019/1/3 — dependants of soldiers killed in the recent India–Pakistan conflict, demobilised ex-servicemen, surplus election and census staff, NCC 'C' certificate holders and Indian nationals repatriated from Burma and Ceylon — receive 5 per cent additional marks on their written score (rulebook clause 4.viii).
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
- Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.
If your degree title, age, domicile or category certificate is unusual, mark yourself “check required” and read the official wording.
