Who can apply?

A readable first check—not a legal eligibility decision.

Basic eligibility paths

  • Qualifying NCET is a mandatory requirement for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at the participating central and state universities and institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs and government colleges (official NCET portal).
  • Passed the Class 12 board examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised Board or Council, per the NCET 2026 programme-wise eligibility list.
  • The programme applied for determines the stage taught (Secondary or Middle) and the degree awarded — B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed. or B.Com. B.Ed. — as listed institution by institution in the official eligibility document.
  • Final admission, counselling and any additional institutional condition are handled by the participating university or institution, not by NTA.

Relaxations & certificates

  • SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
  • Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.
If your degree title, age, domicile or category certificate is unusual, mark yourself “check required” and read the official wording.
