As on 1 January 2025 under advertisement IIE-120/2025-3219/OSSSC: Revenue Inspector and Assistant Revenue Inspector over 20 and below 42; ICDS Supervisor (women only), Village Agricultural Worker, Junior Assistant, Amin and Statistical Field Surveyor 21 to 42. The upper limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST and SEBC, 5 years for women (except ICDS Supervisor, which is a women-only post), 10 years for Persons with Disabilities, and by the period of defence service for ex-servicemen.

Who can apply?

Basic eligibility paths

  • Indian citizen of good character; if married, must not have more than one living spouse (advertisement IIE-120/2025-3219/OSSSC, clause 3B).
  • Must be able to read, write and speak Odia, evidenced in one of the four ways listed in the advertisement.
  • Junior Assistant applicants must belong to the district applied for and hold a valid Employment Exchange registration of that district on or before the date of submission of the application.
  • Persons with Disabilities must hold a permanent disability certificate of not less than 40% and upload the UDID card or disability certificate.
  • A candidate who has availed any relaxation as SC, ST, SEBC or woman cannot be considered against the unreserved category even on higher merit.

Relaxations & certificates

  • Upper age relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST and SEBC candidates.
  • Upper age relaxed by 5 years for women for RI, ARI, VAW, Junior Assistant, Amin and SFS; ICDS Supervisor posts are reserved for women, so no separate women's relaxation applies there, and serving Anganwadi Workers get a further 5 years for ICDS Supervisor.
  • Upper age relaxed by 10 years for Persons with Disabilities, cumulative with the SC/ST/SEBC relaxation under the Odisha Civil Service (Fixation of Upper Age Limit) Rules 1989.
  • For RI and ICDS Supervisor the upper age is relaxed by 5 years for ex-servicemen; for the other posts it is relaxed by the total period of defence service.
  • Up to 5 years of age relaxation for RI, ARI and Amin candidates with actual work experience in settlement or consolidation.

Selection process & syllabus

Selection stages

  1. 1Stage I — Written Test of 100 marks (MCQ, OMR or CBRE): Mathematics 20, General Studies 20, English 20, Odia 15, Computer 15 and Logical Reasoning 10, in 1½ hours at High School Certificate standard
  2. 2Negative marking of 0.25 mark per wrong answer; minimum qualifying score 30% for ST, SC, PwD, ex-servicemen and sportspersons and 35% for others
  3. 3Stage II — Practical Skill Test in Basic Computer Skills of 50 marks in 1 hour, qualifying in nature with a minimum of 40% for all candidates; shortlist at least three times the advertised vacancies
  4. 4Document verification and publication of district or range wise provisional select lists

Syllabus snapshot
