Candidates who pass the written examination must also clear the computer typing speed test unless they already hold the Typewriting Lower Grade certificate. Applicants must be natives or residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry.

- Maximum 30 years for both posts, with the category-wise cut-off dates of birth listed in Part-IV of Advertisement No.02/CHSL/PEA/2025 and separate relaxations for in-service applicants in feeder or allied cadres. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.

Who can apply?

Basic eligibility paths
- Only candidates covered by the DoPAR Exam Cell's published shortlists and notices for a given post should attend that post's skill test, typing test or certificate verification.
- Candidates seeking exemption from the typing test or a scribe facility had to follow the separate notice the Exam Cell issued on 22 Jul 2026.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
- Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.
If your degree title, age, domicile or category certificate is unusual, mark yourself “check required” and read the official wording.

Syllabus snapshot
- The scheme of examination and syllabus are in Annexure-I of Advertisement No.02/CHSL/PEA/2025; the Controller of Examinations may revise the syllabus, number of questions, papers, marks, time and weightage before the examination and notifies any change on the portal.
- Negative marking is 0.25 for every wrong answer, and multiple answers count as wrong.
- Weightage: for Artist, Paper-I carries 25% and the Paper-III skill test 75%; for Lower Division Clerk, Paper-I and Paper-II carry equal weightage.
- Minimum qualifying marks in each paper: 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/MBC/EBC/BCM/BT/EWS and 20% for SC/ST/PwBD/XSM.
- The Exam Cell published the CHSL 2025 Paper-I and Paper-II question papers on 10 Jul 2026.
