Basic eligibility paths
- Two years' service in the Territorial Army or an NCC 'B' or 'C' certificate is a preferential qualification.
- For Group C direct recruitment outside the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission's purview a candidate must either hold an Uttarakhand domicile or permanent residence certificate, or have passed High School and Intermediate from recognised institutions situated in Uttarakhand.
- Reservation benefits require an Uttarakhand domicile or permanent residence certificate together with the relevant category certificate, valid as on the application closing date; an EWS certificate must be issued for financial year 2026-27.
- Candidates already in regular Central or State Government service must produce a departmental no-objection certificate.

Syllabus snapshot
- Paper I carries 100 marks on nursing subjects relevant to the diploma or degree route applied for.
- Paper II carries 100 marks on General Hindi, General Knowledge and General Studies.
- Each correct answer earns one mark and each wrong answer carries a one-fourth negative mark; unanswered questions attract no penalty and the question booklet is bilingual in Hindi and English.
- Objections to the answer key are charged ₹50 per question through the online portal.
